Meet the Magic President of the Rotary Club of Jinja: Rtn. Ronald Edgar Kaganzi Rujumba
Rtn. Ronald’s journey with Rotary began as an Interactor at St. Leo’s College, Kyegoba, and later at St. James S.S.S. Jinja, where he served as President of the Interact Club from 1998-1999. He then joined the Rotaract Club of Jinja, serving in various directorates for 9 years (2001-2009). On December 8, 2010, he was inducted into the Rotary Club of Jinja by the late PDG Henry Kyemba.
Over the past 14 years, Rtn. Ronald has served in various capacities, including director, treasurer, inspirational service projects, executive secretary, and fund mobilizer. Notably, he has made significant contributions to Rotary International and the Rotary world for 25 years.
Some of his notable achievements include:
- Donating mattresses to Balitwengomba Home for the visually impaired (42 pieces) through the URA Customs Dept., Jinja office.
- Securing iron sheets to roof a primary school in Wakiso Njeru Municipal Council through his friend Rtn. Piyush Kotecha of Sunsilk Limited.
- Participating in the immunization drive in Kisima Islands, crossing Lake Victoria using canoes.
- Consistently giving to the Rotary Foundation at the PHF + 2 level and continuing to do so.
- During his ‘Magic Year,’ he aims to complete the construction of the ground floor of the Balitwengomba Complex.
Rtn. Ronald Edgar Rujumba finds joy in giving to the less fortunate and aspires to become a major donor. He has pledged to give $1,000 during his presidency in 2024/2025.
